Abstract:
Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant to provide extension of digital assistant services are provided. An example method includes, at an electronic device having one or more processors, receiving, from a first user, a first speech input representing a user request. The method further includes obtaining an identity of the first user; and in accordance with the user identity, providing a representation of the user request to at least one of a second electronic device or a third electronic device. The method further includes receiving, based on a determination of whether the second electronic device or the third electronic device, or both, is to provide the response to the first electronic device, the response to the user request from the second electronic device or the third electronic device. The method further includes providing a representation of the response to the first user.
Abstract:
Information about a product advertised on a web page is presented separately, but concurrently, with the content of the web page, to avoid having to navigate away from the web page. The information may be automatically presented in a banner that is displayed adjacent the content of the web page. Controls on the banner initiate the display of further information, and/or enable purchase of the product, while maintaining the web page content in view on the browser. Alternatively, the display of the product information may be triggered by user selection of a link associated with that product. The information about the product may appear in an overlay sheet displayed in front of the original web page. The user can interact with controls on the sheet to initiate purchase or download of the product, or can dismiss the overlay sheet to continue viewing the content of the web page.
Abstract:
This relates generally to intelligent automated assistants and, more specifically, to provide intelligent visualization of snippet information. An example method includes receiving a user request and in response to receiving the user request, determining a response for the user request, determining a format for a visual representation of the response, identifying one or more virtual objects based on the format for the visual representation of the response, determining a size for each of the one or more virtual objects based on context information associated with the response, and displaying the one or more virtual objects within a background environment based on the size for each of the one or more virtual objects and geometry of the background environment.
Abstract:
A user interface is disclosed that operates in conjunction with a search engine browser to present localized information that pertains to specific areas of interest. As characters of a search query are being entered into the browser, they are provided to one or more servers that are associated with respective domains of information. If information within those domains corresponds to the search query being entered, an indication is provided to the user of those results, in addition to any input provided by the search engine browser. The user interface enables the user to access the results, even before the search is conducted, to quickly learn about items from the domains that may be of possible interest.
