Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, and software for implementing gestures with touch sensitive devices (such as a touch sensitive display) for managing and editing media files on a computing device or system. Specifically, gestural inputs of a human hand over a touch/proximity sensitive device can be used to control, edit, and manipulate files, such as media files including without limitation graphical files, photo files and video files.

Abstract:
A method, comprising: at a portable electronic device with a touch screen display: displaying, in a portrait orientation of the touch screen display, a list of video items; while displaying the list of video items in the portrait orientation, detecting user selection of a video item; and in response to detecting the user selection of the video item, initiating display of the corresponding user selected video in a landscape orientation of the touch screen display.
Abstract:
A device with a touch-sensitive display may be unlocked via gestures performed on the touch-sensitive display. The device is unlocked if contact with the display-corresponds to a prededfined gesture for unlocking the device. The device displays one or more unlock images with respect to which the predefined gesture is to be performed in order to unlock the device. The performance of the predefined gesture with respect to the unlock image may include moving the unlock image to a predefined location and/or moving the unlock image along a predefined path. The device may also display visual cues of the predefined gesture on the touch screen to remind a user of the gestures.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device displays a plurality of icons (e.g., graphical objects) in a region in a touch-sensitive display; detects a predefined user action, with respect to the touch-sensitive display, for initiating a predefined user interface reconfiguration process; and varies positions of one or more icons in the plurality of icons in response to detecting the predefined user action. The varying includes varying the positions of the one or more icons about respective average positions.

Abstract:
Assisting a user interacting with a portable wireless communication device by providing a user interface for the portable wireless communication device that includes including a plurality of linked display screens and a plurality of physical keys. One of the linked display screens is displayed as a current display screen and a key press corresponding to a selected physical key is received. A resulting action is displayed on a next display screen based upon the current displayed screen and a most recently displayed previous display screen.
