Abstract: A device (120, 130) may comprise at least one wireless transceiver, a memory configured to store a local pasteboard, and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive local selections of data (210) to be placed on a local pasteboard, broadcast advertisements indicating that the local data is on the local pasteboard, and wirelessly transmit the local data to remote device (130) pasteboards. The processor may also be configured to receive advertisements indicating that remote data is available on remote pasteboards of other devices (120), request the remote data in response to a paste command (320), wirelessly receive the remote data, and paste the remote data (210).

Abstract: This application relates to techniques that adjust the sleep states of a computing device based on proximity detection and predicted user activity. Proximity detection procedures can be used to determine a proximity between the computing device and a remote computing device coupled to the user. Based on these proximity detection procedures, the computing device can either correspondingly increase or decrease the amount power supplied to the various components during either a low-power sleep state or a high-power sleep state. Additionally, historical user activity data gathered on the computing device can be used to predict when the user will likely use the computing device. Based on the gathered historical user activity, deep sleep signals and light sleep signals can be issued at a time when the computing device is placed within a sleep state which can cause it to immediately enter either a low-power sleep state or a high-power sleep state.

Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can be configured to monitor environmental, system and user events. The occurrence of one or more events can trigger adjustments to system settings. In some implementations, the mobile device can be configured to keep frequently invoked applications up to date based on a forecast of predicted invocations by the user. In some implementations, the mobile device can receive push notifications associated with applications that indicate that new content is available for the applications to download. The mobile device can launch the applications associated with the push notifications in the background and download the new content. In some implementations, before running an application or accessing a network interface, the mobile device can be configured to check energy and data budgets and environmental conditions of the mobile device to preserve a high quality user experience.

Abstract: In one embodiment, when a new-password field is detected, the field is, without additional user input, automatically populated with a device-generated strong password. Affordances for accepting or declining use of the password are displayed. In one embodiment, when a one-time use code is received via text or e-mail and a corresponding field is displayed, the code is presented as a suggested word for insertion via an insertion affordance. In one embodiment, a first device (e.g., a phone) receives an indication that a second device (e.g., a media player) is in need of authentication credentials. In response, the first device initiates a process for sharing the authentication credentials. In one embodiment, in response to a verbal request, password information is displayed by an electronic device. For example, "Show me my banking password" causes display of the relevant authentication credentials.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a data processing system on a communal electronic device, the data processing system comprising a memory device to store instructions and one or more processors to execute the instructions stored on the memory device. The instructions cause the one or more processors to provide a virtual assistant to receive commands at the communal electronic device, where the virtual assistant, via the one or more processors, is configured to receive a command at the communal electronic device and determine whether the command is to access personal data of a user associated with the communal electronic device. Personal data of the user includes data that is specific to the user. In response to a determination that the command is to access personal data of the user, the virtual assistant can send a request to a personal electronic device of the user to process at least a portion of the command.
