Abstract:
In a computer- implemented method, a portion of an electronic document (3912) is displayed on the touch screen display. The displayed portion of the electronic document has a vertical position in the electronic document (step 2332). An. object (202) is detected on or near the' displayed portion of the electronic document (step 2334). In response to detecting the object on or near the displayed portion of the electronic document, a vertical bar (3962) is displayed on top of the displayed portion of the electronic document. The vertical bar (3962) has a vertical position on top of the displayed portion of the electronic document that corresponds to the vertical position in the electronic document of the displayed portion of the electronic document (step 2336). After a predetermined condition is met, display of the vertical bar (3962) is ceased (step 2342). The vertical bar (3962) is displayed for a predetermined time period when the portion of the electronic document (3912) is initially displayed.
Abstract:
In one aspect of the invention, a graphical user interface on a portable multifunction device with a touch screen display comprises: an hour column comprising a sequence of hour numbers; a minute column comprising a sequence of minute numbers; and a selection row that intersects the hour column and the minute column. In response to detecting a gesture on the hour column, the hour numbers in the hour column are scrolled without scrolling the minute numbers in the minute column. In response to detecting a gesture on the minute column, the minute numbers in the minute column are scrolled without scrolling the hour numbers in the hour column. The single hour number and the single minute number in the selection row after scrolling the hour numbers and the minute numbers, respectively, are used as time input for a function or application on the multifunction device.
Abstract:
A portable multifunction device (100) displays a first user interface object (4350) and a second user interface object (4310) on a touch screen display (112). Upon detecting a finger-down event (4346-2) at the first user interface object (4350) and one or more finger-dragging events (4365) on the touch screen display (112), the device (100) moves the first user interface object (4350) on the touch screen display (112) along a path determined by the finger-dragging events (4365) until the. first user interface object (4350) at least in part overlaps the second user interface object (4310). Upon detecting a finger-up event (4346-3) at the second user interface object (4310), the device (100) visually replaces the second user interface object (4310) with the first user interface object (4350).
