Abstract:
In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at an electronic device with a display, radio frequency (RF) circuitry, and one or more input devices. The device displays a first user interface on the display. While displaying the first user interface, the device detects a pairing request to pair a first peripheral with the electronic device. In response to detecting the pairing request, the device determines whether the first peripheral meets coupling criteria, wherein the coupling criteria require that the first peripheral is coupled to a second peripheral. In accordance with a determination that the first peripheral meets the coupling criteria, the device displays a pairing affordance that initiates pairing of the electronic device with the first peripheral. In accordance with a determination that the first peripheral does not meet the coupling criteria, the device displays information concerning coupling of the first peripheral and the second peripheral.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to user interfaces for receiving user input. In some examples, a device determines which user input technique a user has accessed most recently, and displays the corresponding user interface. In some examples, a device scrolls through a set of information on the display. When a threshold criteria is satisfied, the device displays an index object fully or partially overlaying the set of information. In some examples, a device displays an emoji graphical object, which is visually manipulated based on user input. The emoji graphical object is transmitted to a recipient. In some examples, a device displays paging affordances that enlarge and allow a user to select a particular page of a user interface. In some examples, the device displays user interfaces for various input methods, including multiple emoji graphical objects. In some examples, a keyboard is displays for receiving user input.
Abstract:
Button functionalities for user interfaces, e.g., for use with a portable multifunction device, are disclosed. Exemplary button functionalities are described for an electronic device with a display, a rotatable and depressible input mechanism, and/or a button. Different device features may be accessed, depending on whether the rotatable and depressible input mechanism or the button is activated, and further depending on whether the activation represents a single press, a double press, or an extended press on the rotatable and depressible input mechanism or the button.
Abstract:
A method includes displaying, on a touch-sensitive display, a plurality of application icons in a first configuration at locations on a hexagonal grid in relation to an origin. The application icons have corresponding ranks based on their respective locations in relation to the origin. In response to detecting a movement of a user contact from a first position to a second position: the display of a first application icon at a first location is translated to a second position; a second configuration of the application icons is determined based on the first location and the second location; and the display of the application icons is transitioned from the first configuration to the second configuration. In the second configuration, no application icon except the first application icon is displaced by more than one location relative to the first configuration.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for limiting notifications on an electronic device. In one example process, data representing a user input can be received by an electronic device. The data representing the user input can include touch data from the touch-sensitive device, ambient light data from an ambient light sensor, intensity data from a contact intensity sensor, and/or motion data from one or more motion sensors. Based on the data, it can be determined whether the user input is a cover gesture over a touch-sensitive display of the electronic device. In response to determining that the user input is a cover gesture over the touch-sensitive display, the electronic device can be put into a DND mode for a predetermined amount of time. While in the DND mode, the electronic device can cease to output some or all notifications.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device.
Abstract:
Systems and processes for manipulating a graphical user interface are disclosed. One process can include receiving user input through a crown to rotate a virtual object. The process includes selecting a surface of the object from among the multiple surfaces of the object in response to determining that the crown rotation exceeded a speed threshold.
Abstract:
An electronic device displays a first row, configured to move in a first direction, in a user interface that includes a plurality of representations of open applications. The device concurrently displays a second row, spaced apart from the first row. The second row includes a plurality of application icons corresponding to the representations of open applications. The device detects a first input that corresponds to movement of a respective representation of an open application, in a second direction different from the first direction. The device moves the respective representation out of the first row in the second direction in accordance with a progression of the first input. In accordance with a determination that application-close criteria have been met for the respective application, the device closes the respective application, ceases to display the respective representation in the first row, and ceases to display the corresponding application icon in the second row.
Abstract:
An electronic device detects a gesture on a touch-sensitive display. In response to detecting the gesture on the touch-sensitive display, when the gesture is a first swipe gesture in a first direction, the device displays a plurality of open application icons that corresponds to at least some of a plurality of concurrently open applications. When the gesture is a second swipe gesture in a second direction distinct from the first direction, the device displays one or more settings icons. In some embodiments, the first direction is a horizontal direction. In some embodiments, the second direction is an upward direction.
Abstract:
A method includes displaying one or more views of a view hierarchy, and executing software elements associated with a particular view. Each particular view includes event recognizers. Each event recognizer has one or more event definitions, and an event handler that specifies an action for a target and is configured to send the action to the target in response to event recognition. The method includes detecting a sequence of sub-events, and identifying one of the views of the view hierarchy as a hit view that establishes which views are actively involved views. The method includes delivering a respective sub-event to event recognizers for each actively involved view. A respective event recognizer has event definitions, and one of the event definitions is selected based on the internal state. The respective event recognizer processes the respective sub-event prior to processing a next sub-event in the sequence of sub-events.
