Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tube having in its radial direction, from the inside outwards: 1) a so-called inner layer intended to come into contact with a circulating fluid, the said inner layer comprising (i) a fluoropolymer, (ii) optionally an electrically conductive product and (iii) a triblock copolymer ABC, the three blocks A, B, and C being linked together in this order, each block being either a homopolymer or a copolymer obtained from two or more monomers, the block A being linked to the block B and the block B to the block C by means of a covalent bond or an intermediate molecule linked to one of these blocks via a covalent bond and to the other block via another covalent bond, and such that: block A is compatible with the fluoropolymer, block B is incompatible with the fluoropolymer and is incompatible with block A, block C is incompatible with the fluoropolymer, block A and block B, 2) optionally, a binder layer, 3) a layer of vulcanized elastomer. According to a second form of the invention the inner layer itself consists of two layers, one containing an electrically conductive product and the other containing no electrically conductive product. Advantageously, the layer which is in contact with the circulating fluid contains the electrically conductive product. According to a third form of the invention a layer of fluoropolymer is provided between the inner layer and the binder layer or between the inner layer and the layer of vulcanized elastomer if there is no binder. The second and third forms of the invention may exist simultaneously for the same tube.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multilayer tube comprising, in its radial direction from the outside inwards: an outer layer formed from a polyamide chosen from PA-11 and PA-12, a layer formed from a tie compound, a layer formed from an EVOH, a layer formed from a blend of a polyamide and a polyolefin having a polyamide matrix a layer from a tie compound an inner layer formed from a polyamide chosen from PA-11 and PA-12 and including a dispersed electrically conducting filler producing a surface resistivity of less than 106null-null, the layers being successive and adhering to one another in their respective contact region. The tube of the present invention has a very low permeability to petrol, particularly to hydrocarbons and their additives, and in particular to alcohols, such as methanol and ethanol, or to ethers, such as MTBE or ETBE. These tubes also have good resistance to engine lubrication oils and fuels. The tube has very good mechanical properties at low or high temperatures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multilayer tube comprising, in its radial direction from the outside inwards: an outer layer formed from a polyamide, a layer formed from a copolyamide, a layer formed from an EVOH, a layer formed from a copolyamide, an inner layer formed from a polyamide, the layers being successive and adhering to one another in their respective contact region. Advantageously, the inner layer is formed by a compound based on a polyamide and electrically conducting carbon black, producing a surface resistivity of less than 106 null/null. The outside diameter of these tubes may range from 6 to 110 mm and the wall thickness may be from 0.5 to 5 mm. Advantageously, the petrol tube according to the invention has an outside diameter ranging from 6 to 12 mm and a total wall thickness of 0.36 mm to 1.95 mm, namely: a thickness of 50 to 700 nullm for the polyamide outer layer, a thickness of 10 to 150 nullm for the copolyamide layers, a thickness of 10 to 200 nullm for the EVOH layer, a thickness of 100 to 500 nullm for the polyamide inner layer possibly filled with electrically conducting carbon black. The tube of the present invention has a very low permeability to petrol, particularly to hydrocarbons and their additives, and in particular to alcohols, such as methanol and ethanol, or to ethers, such as MTBE or ETBE. These tubes also have good resistance to engine lubrication oils and fuels.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multilayer tube comprising, in its radial direction from the outside inwards: a first layer of vulcanized elastomer forming the outer layer, a second layer of EVOH or of an EVOH-based blend, a third layer of a blend of a polyamide (A) and a polyolefin (B) having a polyamide matrix, optionally, an inner layer of vulcanized elastomer, the layers being successive and adhering to one another in their respective contact region. It is also possible to place a tie layer between the first and second layers, and likewise between the optional inner layer and the third layer. The tube of the invention may also include a reinforcing layer of the textile type, for example made of polyester or of metal wires, the said layer being placed between the first and second layers. This reinforcing layer may be between the tie layer and the EVOH layer or between the tie layer and the outer layer or else the tie may be placed in the interstices of the reinforcing layer. The tubes of the invention may have an outside diameter of between 8 mm and 25 cm. The thickness of the EVOH layer may be between 10 and 200 nullm, that of the blend of the polyamide (A) and the polyolefin (B) having a polyamide matrix between 25 and 500 nullm, and that of the optional tie layer between 10 and 100 nullm. These tubes are used for fluids in air conditioning systems.
