    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that enables a client and a server belonging to different enterprise domains to provide/utilize two-way web-services with few or no changes of firewalls.
    SOLUTION: A tunnel hub is deployed in a public domain and tunnel gateways are deployed behind firewalls where clients request two-way services and servers provide two-way services. Each tunnel gateway (behind the firewalls) constructs a secure tunnel out through the firewall to a target hub. After the tunnel is created (constructed), a request for service of the first domain enters the tunnel gateway, travels to the tunnel hub in the public domain and further enters a tunnel gateway in a second domain. When the server in the second domain provides the service, the service passes inversely to a route through which the request has passed.

    Abstract: A system and method enhanced collaboration through teleportation or transition. A system used to moderate an enhanced collaboration environment for at least a set of participants, comprising a server (310, Figure 3) for facilitating a 2-D federated collaboration environment (340, Figure 3) for the at least one set of participants; a server (320, Figure 3) for facilitating a 3-D virtual collaboration environment (350, Figure 3) for the at least one selected set of participants; and a gateway server (315, Figure 3) for facilitating teleportation or transition of at least two participants of the at least one set of participants from the 2-D federated collaboration environment to form a teleported collaboration group in the 3-D virtual collaboration environment. The 3-D virtual collaboration environment may be a virtual world wherein the users are represented by avatars which can interact. Teleportation/transition services may be launched in the federated 2-D server 504, participants may be selected for teleportation and well as a meeting location for the teleportation 508, the federation server may further launch gateway instances to every selected participant 512 and the 3-D server may be instructed to take the selected participants to the meeting location and begin the 3-D virtual collaboration environment/session 522, 530. Collaboration embodiments are wide and examples include document or media sharing or exchange, group chat/discussion. The 3-D virtual world is not constrained by the physical limitations of the hardware of each individual user and may be presented as room with a wide range of facilities depending on the particular application. One particular example is transition between a Google Wave (RTM), 2-D, environment to a Web.alive (now Avayalive), 3-D, environment.

    Abstract: A system for providing two-way Web services is disclosed that enables the client (121) and server (122) to be in different enterprise domains (110) - behind firewalls (111) - with few or no changes to the firewalls. In accordance with the illustrative embodiment, a "tunnel hub" (112) is deployed in the public domain and "tunnel gateways" (113) are deployed behind the firewalls where the clients request two-way services and the servers provide two-way services. Each tunnel gateway initiates a secure tunnel (131) out through the firewall to the target hub. Thereafter, a request for service enters the tunnel gateway, travels to the tunnel hub and to the appropriate tunnel gateway where the server is that provides the service. When the server provides the service, it enters the tunnel gateway, travels to the tunnel hub and to the appropriate tunnel gateway where the client is that requested the service.
