Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology provide for secure, privacy-preserving access to electronic conferencing. In one or more implementations, an electronic device may receive a request to join a call with a second device, the request including components of a uniform resource locator (URL). The electronic device may assemble the URL using the components, and join the call using the assembled URL.

Abstract: A device implementing a system for device-relationship based communication includes at least one processor configured to establish, by a first device associated with a first user, a secure communication channel with a second device associated with a second user via a direct wireless connection. The at least one processor is configured to transmit, over the secure communication channel, first device-identifying information to the second device, and receive, over the secure communication channel, second device-identifying information from the second device. The at least one processor is configured to establish a particular type of relationship with the second device, store the second device-identifying information in association with an indication of the particular type of relationship established with the second device, and transmit, to the second device and over the secure communication channel, the indication of the particular type of relationship established with the second device.

In one or more implementations, an electronic device may obtain a definition of a set of services, provide a request for a service-specific alias for the account, and receive the service-specific alias. In one or more implementations, one or more servers may receive a request from a device to contact an account via a service, obtain a stored set of services for the service-specific alias, in response to determining that the service is included in the stored set of services, allow contact with the one or more devices associated with the account, and in response to determining that the service is not included in the stored set of services, deny the request.
