Abstract:
An inductive charging system comprises at least one inductive charging coil (500, 504) which is encapsulated within one or more walls (502, 506) of the enclosure of an electronic device (202, 204). The inductive charging coil or coils may be insert molded into the enclosure of the electronic device. The electronic device can be a transmitter device or a receiver device in an inductive charging system.
Abstract:
An accessory device for an electronic device is disclosed. The accessory device may include a unitary body having a first region, a second region, and a hinge positioned between the first region and the second region. When a force is applied to the first region, the first region may bend or pivot at the hinge. When bent, the first region allows the electronic device to slide into or out of the accessory device. Further, the electronic device may slide into or out of the accessory device in a straight or linear manner. Also, the accessory device may further include a power supply designed to supply electrical current to a battery of the electronic device. The accessory device may further include a connector that electrically connects the power supply with the electronic device. The sliding motion of the electronic device prevents the connector from damage by bending.
Abstract:
A connector includes a housing (214, 228) that includes an engagement member (1046) and defines a recess (216, 238) that is configured to receive a retaining structure of a corresponding connector of a device, and a release (242). When the connector is mated with the corresponding connector of the device, the release (242) is configured to cause movement of the engagement member (1046) to displace the retaining structure from the recess (216, 238).
Abstract:
A head-mounted device (100) includes a device housing (102), a display device (120), an optical system (122), and a headband (106). The head-mounted device also includes a first headband connector (124) that includes a headband-side connector portion (436) that is connected to the headband at a first end of the headband and a device-side connector portion (438) that is connected to the device housing. The first headband connector is movable between a disconnected position, in which the headband-side connector portion is disconnected from the device-side connector portion, and a connected position, in which the headband-side connector portion is connected to the device-side connector portion. The first headband connector also includes paired magnetic components (444, 445) that are configured to attract the headband-side connector portion and the device-side connector portion to one another to urge the first headband connector to move to the connected position.
Abstract:
An electronic device and methods for inductively charging an electronic device using another external electronic device. The electronic device may include an enclosure, a battery positioned within the enclosure, and an inductive coil coupled to the battery. The inductive coil may have two or more operational modes, including a power receiving operational mode for wirelessly receiving power and a power transmitting operational mode for wirelessly transmitting power. The electronic device may also have a controller coupled to the inductive coil for selecting one of the operational modes.
Abstract:
Embodiments describe a wireless charging device that includes: a housing having an outer perimeter and one or more walls defining an interior cavity; a charging surface within the outer perimeter of the housing; a transmitter coil arrangement disposed within the interior cavity below the planar charging surface, the transmitter coil arrangement comprising a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in different layers, each transmitter coil having a pair of termination ends; wherein the plurality of transmitter coils comprises a plurality of inner transmitter coils and a plurality of outer transmitter coils positioned around the inner transmitter coils; and wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged differently than the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils.
Abstract:
A plug connector for an electronic device has a deformable seal positioned on it such that when the plug connector is mated to the electronic device a liquid-tight seal is formed between the plug connector and the electronic device. A seal may also be positioned within a receptacle connector cavity of the electronic device such that it forms a liquid-tight seal to a plug connector when the plug connector is mated to the electronic device.
Abstract:
A case for a pair of earbuds includes a housing having cavities to receive the pair of earbuds and charging circuitry that is configured to initiate charging of the pair of earbuds when an earbud detector detects that the earbuds are inserted within the cavities.
Abstract:
An aesthetically pleasing docking station that is able to support electronic devices with only an interface connector. The docking station is further equipped with mechanisms that protect the electronic device from damage if it's deflected too far while mated to the docking station.
