Abstract:
Various countermeasure expendables and methods of using said countermeasure expendables are provided herein. A countermeasure expendable comprising a canister. The countermeasure expendable includes at least one countermeasure payload operably engaged inside the canister, the at least one countermeasure payload having a volume of countermeasure material. The countermeasure expendable includes a squib operably engaged inside of the canister, wherein the squib is configured to propel the at least one countermeasure payload outside of the canister. The countermeasure expendable includes at least one time delaying assembly operably engaged with the at least one countermeasure payload, wherein the time delaying assembly is configured to dispense the volume of countermeasure material from the at least one countermeasure payload at a predetermined time interval.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a chaff dispensing system that is provided on an aircraft. The chaff dispensing system includes a container, a dispensing assembly, a controller, and a volume of chaff material. The container has a first end, a second end, and a chamber that extends between the first and second ends, and the second end defines an ejection port. The dispensing assembly is provided on the aircraft, and the dispensing assembly is operably engaged to the container. The controller is electrically connected to the dispensing assembly. The volume of chaff material is disposed inside the chamber of the container. The volume of chaff material is dispensed by the dispensing assembly operably through the controller in metered volumes of chaff material. In addition, a first volume of chaff material may be metered at a first time and a second volume chaff material may be metered at a second time in which the second volume of chaff material is different than the first volume of chaff material.
Abstract:
The system and method of pupil size independent pupillometry used for assessing critical diagnostic characteristics relating to neurotransmission and neuroactivity as applied to toxin exposure. The system and method utilizes the timing of a response to stimuli for a pupil of an individual, characterizes the timed responses, determines the latency of the timed responses, measures the minimum constriction value for the timed responses; and assesses the timed responses collected to diagnose changes in neurotransmission and neuroactivity for an individual exposed to organophosphate (OP) nerve agents or botulinum toxin (BTX).
Abstract:
Various systems and methods for leveraging legacy countermeasure dispensing systems (CMDSs). The legacy CMDSs are leveraged through the expansion of breechplates and magazines in a CMDS by expanding the amount of expendables carried by a CMDS while still maintaining the legacy sequencer and dispenser in a legacy military platform, such as an aircraft. In addition, various circuitry systems are included in a circuit card of the breechplate for duplicating and/or expanding the firing lines provided in a legacy CMDS.
Abstract:
The system and method of size independent pupillometry used for assessing critical diagnostic characteristics relating to traumatic brain injury (TBI). The system and method utilizes the timing of a response to a stimuli for one or more pupils of an individual, characterizes the one or more timed responses, determines the latency of the one or more timed responses, measures the minimum constriction value for the one or more timed responses; and assesses the one or more timed responses collected to detect changes in neurotransmission and neuroactivity of an individual to assess the presence of a traumatic brain injury.
