Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter assembly and method of making and using the packaged urinary catheter assembly. The urinary catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving fluid from a patient. The urinary catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the urinary catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the urinary catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.
Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter. The catheter includes a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving urine from the bladder. The catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a catheterization package including catheterization-package components and a catheterization tray configured to facilitate a catheterization procedure. The catheterization-package components include a urinary catheter fluidly connected to a urine-drainage bag and a sampling-port access device configured to fluidly connect to a urine-sampling port of the urinary catheter or the urine-drainage bag for aseptic collection of one or more urine samples. The catheterization tray includes at least a first compartment, a second compartment, and a third compartment configured to hold the catheterization-package components. The first compartment is configured to hold the urinary catheter. The second compartment is connected to the first compartment by an intercompartment connection. The second compartment is configured to hold the urine-drainage bag. The third compartment is configured to hold the sampling-port access device. Step-by-step instructions are incorporated into the catheterization tray to facilitate the catheterization procedure. Also disclosed are methods for the catheterization package.

Abstract:
Disclosed are laser-resistant surgical devices. In one embodiment, a laser-resistant surgical device includes a laser-resistant wire that is exposed when used in the body during a surgical procedure so as to be susceptible to a laser beam strike, the wire comprising a high-temperature metal that is highly resistant to thermal shock.
Abstract:
A urethral support system is described, including an introducer device and tissue implant. The introducer device may include a needle with multiple curves, some of the curves having multiple radii. A sheath assembly may be utilized to assist the passing of the tissue implant through a patient's tissue. The sheath assembly may include connectors configured to connect the sheath assembly to an end of the needle and a tab configured to detachably couple sheath sides over the tissue implant.

Abstract:
A ureteral access sheath comprises a sheath assembly having a main lumen and one or more secondary lumens. The sheath assembly can be configured with medical devices in both lumens, for example, a ureteroscope in the main working channel, and a guidewire, stone basket, grasper, laser fiber, or other surgical instrument in the secondary working channel. Or the sheath assembly can be configured with a medical device in one channel and the other lumen coupled to an irrigation means, such that irrigation of the surgical field can be efficiently accomplished even though the main working channel is substantially completely occupied by, e.g., a ureteroscope. Or the sheath assembly can be configured for irrigation through one lumen and aspiration through the other lumen, thereby creating a turbulent flow which washes the surgical field to facilitate removal of particles and debris.
