Abstract: Flame-resistant thermoplastic moulding compositions containing, as essential components, A) from 5 to 94.5% by weight of polyamide (nylon), B) from 5 to 94.5% by weight of polyphenylene ether and C) from 0.5 to 25% by weight of a flameproofing agent, characterised in that the flameproofing agent C is selected from the group consisting of C1) a mixture of from 80 to 100% by weight, based on C1, of red phosphorus (C11) and from 0 to 20% by weight, based on C1, of a stabiliser (C12), and C2) a mixture of from 40 to 90% by weight, based on C2, of 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10,13,13,14,14-dodecachloro-1,4,4a,5,6,6a,7,10,10a,11,12 ,12a-dodecahydro-1,4:7,10-dimethanodibenzo(a,e)cyclooctane (C21) and from 10 to 60% by weight, based on C2, of a compound (C22) of antimony, iron, bismuth or zinc, their preparation and their use.
