Abstract: Adhesive contains a free radical-polymerised polymer (I) with 0.5-90 wt.% units derived from (a) a monomer with dicyclopentadiene or dihydrodicyclopentadiene groups of formula (IIA) or (IIB); which is mono-substituted by R and optionally mono- or poly-substituted by R . R = an organic radical with a copolymerisable, ethylenically unsaturated group; R = a 1-12 carbon (C) alkyl or 5-20 C cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl group. Also claimed are a method of bonding substrates with the adhesive; and substrates coated with an adhesive, especially a pressure-sensitive adhesive or laminating adhesive of this type.
