Abstract: 1,028,673. Filling bags; shoots. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. March 19, 1963, No. 10742/63. Headings B8C and B8S. A nozzle for filling valve bags has a lower cylindrical portion 5 (Fig. 1) cut-off on a slope at 5 and partly surrounded by a jacket 6, as shown in section in Fig. 2, to provide an air vent, and the nozzle is fed through its upper downwardly constricted end 2 which may contain a pear-shaped baffle 4 to direct the material close to the walls of the nozzle. The nozzle is preferably lined with polytetrafluorethylene. The jacket 6 preferably has a crescent-shaped flange 7 (Fig. 3, not shown) limiting the penetration of the nozzle into a bag. The nozzle may be fed from a feed weigher, and the bags may be supported during filling on an inclined conveyer belt which removes the bags after filling. Preferred proportions are given for the jacket 6.
