Abstract: A process for the production of cyclopentadiene homopolymers (CpP), using a palladium complex catalyst of formula ÄPd(R CN)4Ü )2 (I), in which R = 1-8C alkyl; A = a stable anion. Also claimed are: (i) CpP with a mol. wt. of 10,000 to 1 million and fewer than 35% 1,2-linkages, obtained by this process; (ii) a Pd catalyst as above (I), optionally combined with a palladium- coordinated olefin or diolefin (especially dicyclopentadiene, cyclopentene, norbornadiene, allyl and/or cyclo-octadiene).
