    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce high alloy steel parts containing an oxidation-sensitive metal by preparing a mixture consisting of a carbonyl iron powder, a powder of a specific alloy containing oxidation-sensitive metal, and a binder, subjecting the resultant mixture to injection molding, removing the binder, and carrying out sintering. SOLUTION: A mixed injection molding material, which consists of at least 30 wt.% of a powder of iron group type carbonyl metal, particularly carbonyl iron, at least 5 wt.% of a powder of an alloy of metals selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mn, V, Si, and Ti and containing an oxidation-sensitive metal, and a binder, is prepared. At this time, the proportion between the particle size of the carbonyl metal powder and that of the alloy powder is on the order of 1:2. This injection molding material is injection molded by using a screw type injection molding machine. The contained binder is removed by heating up to, e.g. about 110 deg.C in a nitrogen air stream. Then, high temperature sintering is carried out under reduced pressure or in a reducing protective gas atmosphere or in an inert gas atmosphere of nitrogen, or the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce desired time for dewaxing an injection molded part and to improve the density of the sinetred parts, at the time of pelletizing a mixture of metal powder and a binder, executing injection molding, thereafter removing the binder and executing sintering, by adding a metallic oxide to the mixture of the metal powder and the binder. CONSTITUTION: Carbonyl iron powder is mixed, as a binder, with polyethylene and the low molecular weight wax thereof and is furthermore mixed with iron oxide powder by 2 to 30 wt.% to the carbonyl iron powder. This iron oxide is the powdery one with an approximately spherical shape and 10 to 120 m /g specific surface area obtd. by burning Fe(CO3 )5 in the presence of surplus oxygen. The mixture of the carbonyl iron powder, binder and iron oxide is pelletized and is thereafter subjected to injection molding into a desired shape by an injection molding machine. The molded part is heated in an inert gas atmosphere such as N2 , the binder is removed by the presence of the iron oxide, moreover, C in the carbonyl iron powder is decarburized, and, by the subsequent sintering, ferrous sintered parts having high density can be produced.
