Abstract: Heat in reactors polymerising fluid gases in aq. dispersion are dissipated by recirculating the dispersion from the reactor (4) through a cooled heat exchanger, the recirculation being induced by convection and maintained by gas bubble generation in the recirculation system. Used in polymerising vinyl chloride in aq. dispersion. Polymerisation capacity is increased by increased heat transfer and suppression of foam formation.
