Abstract:
The production of 1-amino-4-nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic esters by reaction of 1,2-dihydro-6-nitro-7,8-diphthaloyl-3,1,4Hbenzoxazone-4 with an alcohol in the presence of an acid catalyst. Pure carboxylic esters are immediately obtained in a high yield previous isolation of the carboxylic acid.
Abstract:
IN WHICH BOTH R''s are alkyl, phenyl or phenalkyl (the radical R bearing other substituents if desired) and X is the radical of a methyleneactive compound. The dyes dye fibers of linear polyesters brilliant greenish yellow to bluish red shades.
Abstract:
A process for the manufacture of blue anthraquinonoid disperse dyes based on 1,5(1,8)-diamino-4,8(4,5)-dihydroxyanthraquinone, wherein 1,5(1,8)-dinitro-4,8(4,5)-dimethoxy-anthraquinone or mixtures of these compounds are reduced, in 20 to 45% strength by weight oleum, with sulfur at -10* to +50*C in the presence of boric acid, and the product of the reduction is brominated in sulfuric acid or 0 to 5% strength by weight oleum or in organic solvents until the product thus obtained contains 12 to 30% by weight of bromine. Dyes which give deep and, in particular, light-fast dyeings, above all on fibrous materials consisting of linear polyesters, are obtained.
Abstract:
An improved process for the manufacture of Alpha -methyl ethers of anthraquinone from the corresponding nitroanthraquinones by reacting the nitro compound with methanol in the presence of at least the stoichiometric amount of anhydrous or virtually anhydrous potassium carbonate with heating. Pure Alpha -methyl ethers are obtained in high space-time yields. The Alpha nitroanthraquinones used may, if desired, be mixtures such as are obtained in the mononitration or dinitration of anthraquinone.
Abstract:
Uniformly dyed water-swellable cellulosic fibers which have been produced by contacting water-swellable cellulosic fibers successively or simultaneously with water, with ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or derivatives of these and with an essentially water-insoluble dye of the formula where Y is unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or naphthyl or an unsubstituted or substituted saturated or unsaturated 5-membered or 6-membered heterocyclic radical, two of the three radicals X are hydroxyl and the remaining radical X is where A is chlorine, bromine, cyano, nitro, an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic radical and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3 and where, if n>1, the radicals are identical or different. Deep reddish blue to green dyeings or prints are obtained. The dyeings have very good fastness characteristics.
Abstract:
New isoindoline derivs. are of formula (I) (in which R1 and R2 are methyl or ethyl.) Used for mass colouring of thermoplastics in red shades they give strong shades which are very stable to high temps., eg. up to 300 degrees C in polystyrene, in comparison with nearest cpd fromcondensn. of 1-amino 3-imino isoindolenine with 2 mols 2-cyano-methyl benzimidazole, which is only stable to 220 PC.
