PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferable method for producing a secondary amine by which a high yield and a high selectivity are achieved. SOLUTION: The secondary amine of formula (I) (R 1 , R 2 and A are each shown in the specification) is obtained by reacting a primary amine of formula (II): R 1 R 2 N-A-NH 2 [R 1 , R 2 and A are each as previously defined] in the presence of a catalyst containing hydrogen and at least one compound of an atom or an element of groups VIII or IB in the periodic table. The invention concerns microcapsule preparations containing microcapsules that have a core made of a hydrophobic material including at least one odorous or scent substance and a capsule envelope, which can be obtained by i) radical polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising 30 to 100 weight percent of one or more C1-C24-alkylester of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid, 0 to 70 weight percent of one bifunctional or polyfunctional monomer, 0 to 40 weight percent of other monomers or ii) acid-induced condensation of melamine formaldehyde precondensates and/or the C1-C4-alkylethers thereof. The invention also concerns detergent or cleaning agent compositions containing said microcapsules.

The invention relates to the production of glyceric acid compounds of general formula (I): R R C(OH)-CR (OH)-COOX, wherein R , R independently represent hydrogen, C1-12-alkyl, C6-12-aryl, C7-13-alkaryl or C7-13-aralkyl and X represents hydrogen, alkali, alkaline earth/2 or NH4, by saponification of glyceric acid compounds of formula (II), wherein Y represents NH2 or OR with R C1-12-alkyl or C7-13-aralkyl with ring-opening addition of water to the epoxy ring. Preferably, Y represents NH2 and the glyceric acid used, corresponding to general formula (II) is produced by reacting acrylnitrile of general formula (III): R R C=CR CN with hydrogen peroxide.

The invention relates to a composition for the treatment of metal surfaces and to the deposition of metals or metal alloys on plastics surfaces, comprising a) at least one polymer as component A, composed of an amino-containing polymer (component Aa), at least one aromatic compound (component Ab), and, where appropriate, an aldehyde (component Ac); b) water or another solvent suitable for dissolving, dispersing, suspending or emulsifying the polymer, as component B; c) if desired, surface-active compounds, dispersants, suspension media and/or emulsifiers as component C. The invention further relates to a process for the treatment of a metal surface and also to a process for the deposition of metals or metal alloys on a-plastics surface in which the metal or plastics surface is contacted with a polymer (component A). The invention further relates to the use of polymers (component A) for the treatment of metal surfaces and for the deposition of metals or metal alloys on a plastics surface, and to polymers composed of specific components A'a, Ab and A'c.
