    Abstract: An electrophotographic recording medium which consists essentially of an electrically conductive base and a photosemiconductive double layer which comprises a first layer containing charge carrier-producing dyes, and a second layer containing one or more compounds which are charge carrier-transporting when exposed to light, wherein the charge carrier-producing dyes are those of the general formula I I where R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or a non-ionic substituent, X and Y are each the radical of a methylene-active compound, or of an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic amine or hydrazine, and Z is hydrogen, methyl or phenyl, and the production of this recording medium.

    Abstract: Coatings and adhesives for brass, copper, zinc, iron and steel consist of an ethylene copolymer contg. 0.5-30 wt.% bound ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid in bound form and 0.01-5 wt.% (on ethylene copolymer) of phthalocyanine, copper phthalocyanine, iron phthalocyanine, dihydroxybenzanthrone or a dihydroxybenzanthrone deriv. A pref. copolymer contains 60-90 wt.% ethylene, 0.5-20 wt.% acrylic acid and 0.5-20 wt.% tert. butyl acrylate. The copolymer can be compounded with the phthalocyanine or the dihydroxybenzathrone in a kneader, in an extruder, etc. The compsns. can be used for coating the metals (e.g. by melt extrusion, powder sintering etc.), for bonding the metals to aluminium, plastics, textiles, rubber, glass, etc. and for the construction of sandwich panels useful in building, vehicles, aircraft, containers, etc. The compsns. give good bond strengths which do not deteriorate on immersion in water.

The compounds according to the invention are preferably used for coloring paper pulp.
