Abstract: Wood and/or plastics is sawn through with a saw having a straight or almost straight sawing edge by moving the saw through the wood and/or plastics in the one direction with a stroke at a positive angle and in the other direction with a stroke at a negative angle to the normal to the wood and/or plastics, and choosing the setting so that a part of the thickness of the wood and/or plastics is sawn through per saw stroke. Sawing is effected without prodn. of splinters esp. when the wood is covered on both sides with plastic material, using relatively low power. Temp. increase is lower.
