Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the heat insulating characteristics of a known foamed plate object by reducing heat conductivity especially in the thickness direction of the plate object in addition to the improvement of sound insulating characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A foamed plate object having anisotropy in such a mode that foam is compressed in the thickness direction of the plate object is characterized by having a bulk density of 15-45 kg/m and showing 1.2-1.6 in the long diameter-to-short diameter ratio of compressed foam.
