Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column tray for a mass transfer shelf stage column capable of avoiding the stagnation of a liquid penetrating into the fine gaps of a tray constitutional element and the undesirable physical and chemical change of a liquid substance caused by the stagnation. SOLUTION: The greater part of a plate member constituting a tray, especially, the whole thereof and a support member or a support annular member are liquidtightly bonded, especially, welded in an especially distinguished zone or the greater part of the support member, especially, the whole therof is mutually bonded, especially, welded to the wall of a shelf stage column or the support annular member in a liquidtight manner in the especially distinguished zone. Furthermore, the tray plate member and the support member adjacent to each other are mutually isolated so as to leave an interval of 1-15mm, especially, 1-7mm with respect to the column wall or the support annular member.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst composition which is suitable for a catalyst for production of methacrylic acid by gas phase oxidation of methacrolein by constituting a composition of Mo, P, V, K, Cu, Ce, Sb, Re, S, O in a specific ratio and, when used, convert methacrolein to methacrylic acid at an increasing rate. CONSTITUTION: The compositions of the formula: Mo12 Pa Vb X c X d X e Sbf Reg Sh On (X is K, Rb and/or Cs, X is Cu and/or Ag, X is Ce, B, Zr, Mn and/or Bi, a is 0.5-3.0, b is 0.01-3.0, c is 0.2-3.0, d is 0.01-2.0, e is 0-2.0, f is 0.01-2.0, g is 0-1.0, h is 0.001-0.5, n is a number determined by the valency and content of the elements different from oxygen in the formula) are used. The compositions can be used as excellent catalysts for preparing methacrylic acid by gas-phase oxidation of methacrolein, and when used, can convert methacrolein to methacrylic acid at an increasing selective ratio.
