Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic particle foams having cells with a n average cell size in the range of 20 to 500 .mu.m, wherein the cell membra nes have a nanocellular or fibrous structure with pore or fiber diameters of less than 1500 nm. The invention also relates to a method for producing sai d particle foams.
