    Abstract: A method for separation of a crude C4 cut, containing butane, butene, 1,3-butadiene and small amounts of other hydrocarbons, amongst which are C4 acetylenes, by means of extractive distillation with a selective solvent is disclosed, whereby the crude C4 cut (1) is introduced into a first extractive distillation column (K I) in the mid region thereof, the selective solvent (2) introduced above the crude C4 cut (1) and a vapour sidestream (3) withdrawn from the first extractive distillation column below the introduction point of the crude C4 cut (1), containing the C4 acetylenes and predominantly the selective solvent as well, whereby the concentration of the C4 acetylenes in the vapour sidestream (3) lies below the spontaneous decomposition level and a head stream (5) is withdrawn containing the components which are less soluble then the C4 acetylenes in the selective solvent.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous method for separating a C4 cut (C4) by means of extractive distillation using a selective solvent (LM) in an extractive distillation column (EDK). A separating wall (TW), forming a first partial region (A), a second partial region (B) and a lower common column region (C), is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the extractive distillation column (EDK). According to said method, a head flow (C4H10) comprising butane is separated from the first partial region (A), a head flow (C4H8) comprising butene is separated from the second partial region (B), and a flow (C4H6) comprising the hydrocarbons from the C4 cut is separated from the lower common column region (C), said hydrocarbons dissolving more easily in the selective solvent (LM) than the butane and the butene.

    Abstract: 1,3-butadiene is obtained by extractive distillation with a selective solvent from a C4 cut comprising C4 acetylenes as secondary components in a dividing wall column having a bottom evaporator, in which a dividing wall is disposed in the longitudinal direction of the column to form a first subregion, a second subregion and a lower combined column region. The column is disposed upstream of an extractive wash column. The energy input into the dividing wall column via the bottom evaporator is controlled in such a way that a bottom stream containing solvent, C4 acetylenes and 1,3-butadiene restricted such that the loss of 1,3-butadiene is economically acceptable, is drawn off and fed to an acetylenes outgasser where the C4 acetylenes are stripped out overhead and purified solvent is obtained as the bottom stream.
