Abstract: Anodic oxidn. of dye-contg. waste waters by electrolysis, opt. in presence of Cl' and/or SO4" ions, is effected in the presence of NO3', present in 0.1 - 20 (1-6) wt.% concn. w.r.t. dye-contg. waste water, esp. at pH 6. Pref. cathode consists of W and/or Mo opt. alloyed with 60 wt.% Fe and/or Ni, at least on surface facing the counter-electrode, and the anode of carbide-free alloys of Ti, Ta a and W, with 25 (18-22) wt.% Fe gp. elements, at least on surface facing the counter-electrode. The cell is cylindrical comprising an anode- or cathode core and a concentrically surrounding tubular cathode or anode, spaced by 10 (1-3) mm.
