    Abstract: 1,255,546. Oxymethylene polymer composition; amide-containing polycondensates. BADISCHE ANILIN - & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 24 April, 1969 [25 April, 1968], No. 20924/69. Headings C3P and C3R. Oxymethylene polymers are heat stabilized by adding up to 5% of a polycondensate obtained by reacting in an acid aqueous medium at 40‹ to 100‹ C. (A) a diamide of a nitrogen-free dicarboxylic acid; (B) an amide having at least two carboxylic amide groups and at least one basic secondary or tertiary nitrogen atom; (C) an N,N 1 -alkylene- or N,N 1 -hydroxy, alkyl or alkoxy substituted alkyleneurea, or an N,N 1 -disubstituted urea wherein the substituents are alkyl, aryl or aralkyl ; and (D) formaldehyde or a formaldehyde yielding substance or an N- methylol compound of components (A) or (C). An antioxidant may also be included. Formaldehyde or trioxan polymers may be stabilized and in examples, various condensates of isophthalimide, nitrilo - trilactamide, N,N 1 - ethylene or propylene urea and formaldehyde are prepared and mixed with a trioxan-dioxolan copolymer and 2,2 1 -methylene-bis-(4-methyl-6 (t-butylphenol).
