IMPROVED RELIEF PLATES, PARTICULARLY PRINTING PLATES, PREPARED BY EXPOSING UNDER AN IMAGE-BEARING TRANSPARENCY A LAYER, WHICH CAN BE CROSSLINKED BY EXPOSURE AND HAS BEEN APPLIED TO A LIGHT-REFLECTING SUBSTRATE OF A SUBSTANTIALLY HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURE OF SOLID POLYMMERS, MONOMERS, PHOTOINITIATORS AND, IF DESIRED, POLYMERIZATION INHIBITORS, WHICH MIXTURE ALSO CONTAINS FINELY DISPERSED THEREIN A SOLUBLE METAL COMPLEX DYE, AND WASHING OUT THE UNEXPOSED AREAS.

PHOTOPOLYMERIZABLE COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING PHOROPOLYMERIZABLE ETHYLENICALLY UNSATURATED MONOMERIC COMPOUNDS, A POLYMER AS BINDER AND ALSO OZYPHOSPHORANES. THE ADDITION OF OXYPHOSPHORANES CONSIDERABLY IMPROVES THE PHOTOSENSITIVITY OF THE PHOTOPOLYMERIZABLE COMPOSITIONS AND THE CONSTANCY OF SAID SENSITIVITY EVEN WHEN THEY ARE STORED FOR PROLONGED PERIODS.

O.Z. 0050/40603 An apparatus for exposing photopolymeric printing plates consists of a stand (1) having integral UV fluorescent tubes (7b), an obliquely arranged glass support sheet (4) ¢sic! for supporting the printing plates, the support sheet being equipped with an orthogonal pattern (25, 26) of grooves, connected to vacuum pumps, a matt black cloth (9) arranged between the UV fluorescent tubes and the support sheet, a lid (2) which is pivotable about a pivotal point (6), is connected to the stand and has integral UV fluorescent tubes (7a), the lid being capable of being swivelled upward on the one hand and laid flat on the stand on the other hand, and a means (4) which moves to and fro via toothed racks (5) and is intended for fold-free and bubble-free positioning and simultaneous cleaning of a vacuum film (3), the vacuum film giving a vacuum-tight seal against the support sheet when the printing plate is placed on top.
