Abstract: Porous or fibrous plastics are used prepd. by polymerisation of synthetic materials in the presence of non-polymerising, reversibly solidified phase a matrix, avoiding the spinning process. Poromers with lamellar structure are prefd., Grass-seed, clover etc., seedlings and plants may be sown or planted on the substrates which are especially useful as green cover in places where no topsoil or humus is present e.g. on eroded land, steep banks, coastal strips, dunes etc. The substrates have a high water capacity, independent of angle inclination, can be put down simply and quickly without machinery and can be prepd. in quickly decomposing form, adding to the humus of the soil covered.
