Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a hair fixative which comprises a copolymer mainly containing t-butyl (meth)acrylate as a film-forming agent and shows not only excellent compatibility with polar propellant containing hydrocarbons as a base component but also fine hair fixative action. CONSTITUTION: This hair fixative contains a copolymer, which is obtained by radical-copolymerizing (A) 75-99wt.% of t-butyl acrylate, t-butyl methacrylate or their mixtures, (B) 1-25wt.% of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or their mixtures and (C) 0-10wt.% of monomers capable of radical-copolymerizing with other monomers, preferably 85-98wt.% of A, 2-15wt.% of B and 0-5wt.% of C, and then neutralizing a part or all (preferably 30-90wt.%) of the carbonyl group with an amine and possesses a K value of 10-50, particularly 15-35, as a film forming agent. The spray preparation consisting of 2-10wt.% of the copolymer, 25-50wt.% of a solvent (particularly ethanol and isopropanol) and 45-75wt.% of a jet agent (particularly propane and n-butane) is preferably used.
