Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a film-forming agent, characterized by good compatibility with a spray agent based on a hydrocarbon and simultaneously useful for a hair cosmetic capable of manifesting good hair setting actions and low coefficient of moisture absorption. CONSTITUTION: The hair setting agent and hairdressing comprise a polymer based on N-vinylcaprolactam as a film-forming agent. The polymer contained in the hair setting agent and hairdressing agent is excellent in compatibility with a nonopolar spray agent and capable of manifesting good hair setting actions and curl retention and a low water absorbing power.
