    Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of polyurethanes consisting of (a) organic polyisocyanates, (b) polyesterpolyols having a molecular weight of from 500 to 5,000, (c) organic hydroxy compounds having a molecular weight of from 62 to 400 and two terminal groups which are reactive to isocyanate groups, as chain extenders, and (d) compounds containing ionic groups or groups which can be converted to ionic groups and one or more isocyanate groups or a hydroxyl or amino group which is reactive to isocyanate groups, which contain from 0.05 to 2 meq of ionic groups incorporated into the polyurethane via (d) per g of polyurethane are particularly suitable for adhesives when the chain extenders (c) are incorporated in an amount of from 1.5 to 8 moles per mole of polyols, and a minor amount of (a) can be replaced with monoisocyanates, and a minor amount of (b) with polyetherpolyols.

    Abstract: Polyurethane adhesive mixtures or polyurethane adhesive solutions contain (a) a polyurethane elastomer which advantageously has a mean molecular weight of not less than 30,000 and which is prepared by reacting (i) one or more essentially linear polyesterpolyols and (ii) one or more chain extenders with (iii) a mixture of 4,4'- and 2,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate isomers in a weight ratio of from 60:40 to 40:60 and (b) if appropriate, additives and/or organic solvents.

    Abstract: Aq. dispersions of polyurethanes (I) comprise (a) polyisocyanates, opt. with sec. amts. of monoisocyanates, (b) polyesterpolyols of mol.wt. 500-5000, opt. with up to 40 wt.% polyetherpolyols of same mol.wt., (C) OH-cpd. of mol.wt. 62-400 as chain-extender, contg. 2 NCO-reactive end-gps., (d) cpd. with (potential) ionic gps. with at least one NCO gp. or NCO-reactive OH or amino gp., (e) opt. monofunctional polyetherols or diols with lateral polyether gps. and 40% polyethylene oxide (PEO) gps. in the ether chain, and (f) opt., chain extenders with at least 2 amino gps., contg. no ionic gps.; amt. of ionic gps. (via d) is 0.05-2 mequiv./g PU and opt. up to 10 wt.% PEO segments. The novelty is that the amt. of chain extender incorporated (c) is 1.5-8 mol per mol polyols (b).
