Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject dispersant which has a good storage stability and is used for forming a thermally stable bond by formulating a specific polyurethane and an amino-functional group-bearing macromolecular compound. SOLUTION: This dispersant contains (A) a mixture of (i) a polyurethane bearing a group which makes the polyurethane dispersible in water and a C-C double bond which is activated by the directly bonding carbonyl group, (ii) a polyurethane which makes the polyurethane dispersible in water, but does not bear the group bearing a C-C double bond activated by the directly bonding carbonyl group and (B) a compound which bears at least two of hydrogen bonds in the from of an amino functional group, has a solubility of >=1g/l (at 25 deg.C) and a number-average molecular weight (Mn ) of 200-1,000,000. Thus, a dispersant useful as a coating or an adhesive is obtained.

Abstract: Aqueous polyurethane preparations which contain from 10 to 60% by weight of at least one polyurethane A which is built up from a) at least one organic diisocyanate or a mixture of organic isocyanates which has an arithmetic mean NCO functionality of from 1.9 to 2.3 [monomers I], b) at least one dihydric polyether alcohol having a number average molecular weight of from 500 to 5000 or a mixture of polyether alcohols having a number average molecular weight of from 500 to 5000 and having an arithmetic mean functionality of alcoholic OH groups of from 1.6 to 2.3 [monomers II], c) at least one alcohol containing 1 to 3 alcoholic OH groups and at least one ionogenic group [monomers III], d) no, one or more dihydric alcohols having a number average molecular weight of from 62 to 499 or a mixture of alcohols having a number average molecular weight of from 62 to 499 and having an arithmetic mean functionality of alcoholic OH groups of from 1.9 to 2.3 [monomers IV], e) no, one or more monohydric polyether alcohols [monomers V], and f) no, one or more polyamines containing at least two N-H groups [monomers VI], with the proviso that the amounts of incorporated monomers I to VI are such that the OH/NCO equivalent ratio for the incorporated monomers II/monomers I is from 0.2 to 0.6, for the monomers III/monomers I is from 0.2 to 0.8, for the monomers IV/monomers I is from 0 to 0.2, and for the monomers V/monomers I is from 0 to 0.2, and the -N-H/NCO equivalent ratio of the incorporated monomers VI/monomers I is from 0 to 0.1, that the arithmetic mean functionality of all the incorporated monomers I to monomers V, determined via the sum of the NCO groups of the monomers I and the alcoholic OH groups of the monomers II to monomers V, is from 1.8 to 2.3, that the NCO/(OH + N-H) equivalent ratio for the incorporated monomers I, the OH groups of the incorporated monomers II to monomers V and the N-H groups of the incorporated monomers VI is from 0.9 to 1.0 and, in the case of the additional incorporation of monomers VI, the NCO/OH equivalent ratio for the incorporated monomers I and the sum of the incorporated monomers II to monomers V is at the same time greater than 1, that the monomers II have a degree of ethoxylation of less than 30% by weight, that the monomers V have a degree of ethoxylation of at least 40% by weight, and that from 0.05 to 2 mmol of the ionogenic groups of the incorporated monomers III per gram of polyurethane A in the aqueous preparation are in ionised form. These aqueous polyurethane preparations are suitable as primers (bottom coats) for finishes (dressings) on greased (oiled) and/or waterproofed leathers.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the preparation of flexible polyurethane foams having good hydrolytic stability, improved damping, with equal or higher levels of other physical properties and with a high absorption capacity. The foams are prepared by reacting organic polyisocyanates and mixtures of (a) liquid polyester polyols, which are produced by the polycondensation of organic dicarboxcylic acid and a polyol mixture which contains 1,4-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, and at least one triol, and (b) di- to tetra-functional polyether polyols having molecular weights of 1500 to 6000 in the presence of catalysts and blowing agents as well as optionally chain extenders, auxiliaries, and additives.

Abstract: 1. A process for the production of cellular or non-cellular polyurethane elastomers from organic polyisocyanates, relatively high molecular weight polyhydroxy compounds and chain extenders in the presence or absence of catalysts, blowing agents, auxiliaries and additives, wherein there are used as polyhydroxy compounds polyester polyols obtained by polycondensation of an organic dicarboxylic acid with an alcohol mixture consisting of 40 to 100% by weight, based on the alcohol mixture, of a diol mixture which in its turn consists essentially of (a) 10 to 30% by weight of 1,4-butanediol, (b) 40 to 60% by weight of 1,5-pentanediol, and (c) 15 to 35% by weight of 1,6-hexanediol, the percentages by weight being based on the total weight of the diol mixture, and 60 to 0% by weight, based on the alcohol mixture, of a dihydric alcohol selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, 1,2-propylene glycol, 1,3-propylene glycol, 1,8-octanediol, neopentyl glycol, 1,4-bis-(hydroxymethyl)cyclohexane, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, diethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol and dibutylene glycol, or 90 to 98% by weight, based on the alcohol mixture, of the above diol mixture, and 2 to 10% by weight, based on the alcohol mixture, of a trihydric and/or tetrahydric alcohol.

Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of polyurethanes which are crosslinkable by the action of high energy radiation contain (a) a polyisocyanate, (b) a polyol having a molecular weight of from 400 to 6,000 g/mol, (c) if required, a polyol having a molecular weight of from 62 to 399 g/mol, (d) if required, a polyamine having two or more amino groups which are reactive to isocyanate, (e) if required, an aminoalcohol having one or more amino groups which are reactive to isocyanate, (f) a compound containing ionic groups or groups which can be converted into ionic groups and one or more hydroxyl or amino groups which are reactive to isocyanate (g) if required, a monofunctional polyetheral and (h) a compound having one or more ethylenically unsaturated groups and one or more hydroxyl groups. The compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group (h) is used in amounts corresponding to 0.02-0.08 gram equivalent, based on the polyisocyanate (a), of OH, and the polyurethane, dissolved in dimethylformamide, has a Fikentscher K value greater than 40 or is insoluble in dimethylformamide.
