Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method for the purification of a crude phosphonium salt. SOLUTION: A phosphonium salt of formula (R is a 5-40C hydrocarbon group; R' is a 1-4C alkyl or a 6-10C aryl; and X is an anion) is purified by a process containing the steps of (a) passing a solution of the crude phosphonium salt through a bed of a cation exchange resin having a salt form, (b) washing the cation exchange resin with at least one polar protonic or aprotic solvent and/or at least one nonpolar solvent and (c) eluting the phosphonium salt from the cation exchange resin with an electrolyte solution optionally combined with a polar aprotic solvent. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing cis-6-hexadecenoic acid, progressing with high Z/E selectivity, and having no defect concerning safety, possessed by a conventional well-known process. SOLUTION: This method for producing the cis-6-hexadecenoic acid represented by formula I comprises (a1) reacting a triphenylphosphonium salt represented by formula II with decanal represented by formula III, or (a2) reacting a triphenylphosphonium salt represented by formula IV with an aldehyde represented by formula V by a Witting reaction, and (b) saponifying the ester produced in the steps (a1) or (a2) and represented by formula VI. (In the formulas, substituents R1, R2 and X- are same as those defined in the specification).

Abstract:
The invention relates to an improved method for producing D-pantothenic acid and/or the salts thereof and to the use thereof as an additive for animal feed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a compound (II) or a composition containing the compound (II), a composition containing succinimide, and a composition which is produced according to said inventive method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the fermentative production of methionine, to a method for the insolation of the methionine thus formed, organic substances containing methionine occurring during insulation, to the use thereof in the production of animal food or animal food complements, in addition to the use of insolated methionine in the production of human or animal food or human or animal food complements.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing carotenoids or their precursors using genetically modified organisms of the Blakeslea genus. Said method comprises the following steps (i) transformation of at least one of the cells, (ii) optional homokaryotic conversion of the cells obtained in step (i) to produce cells, in which one or more genetic characteristics of the nucleii are all modified in an identical manner and said modification manifests itself in the cells, (iii) selection and reproduction of the genetically modified cell or cells, (iv) cultivation of the genetically modified cells, (v) preparation of the carotenoids produced by the genetically modified cells or the carotenoid precursor produced by said genetically modified cells. The invention also relates to carotenoids or their precursors produced according to said method and to the use thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for enriching trehalose from solutions, in which the enrichment is performed using an adsorbent, in which the adsorbent is an aluminosilicate. Preferably, the aluminosilicate is a zeolite. The invention further relates to the enrichment and purification of trehalose from fermentation broths, in particular as a coupled product of production by fermentation of other products of value.
