    Abstract: Dialkoxyethenes of formula R1O-CR2:CR3-OR4 (I) are produced by cleavage of alcohols R4OH or R5OH from trialkoxyethanes of formula R1O-CHR2-CR3(OR5)-OR4 (II) in the presence of zeolites and/or phosphates and/or phosphoric or boric acid on a support material as catalysts. In the formulae, R1, R4, R5 are opt. branched alkyl or cycloalkyl; R2, R3 are alkyl or cycloalkyl as above, or H, aryl or alkenylaryl (opt. with aromatic gp. substd. with alkyl, alkoxy, Hal, etc.). 1,2-Dimethoxyethene (III) is made by cleavage of MeOH from 1,1,2-trimethoxyethane (IV) using the above, or acidic untreated metal oxides as catalysts, catalysts are pentasil-type zeolites esp. B, Fe or Al silicate zeolites or Y-type Al silicate zeolites, pref. doped with alkali, transition or rare earth metals or hydrothermally-produced phosphates of B, Al, Zr, Fe, Sr, esp. Al, Si/Al, Si/Fe/Al or B/Al phosphate or phosphoric or boric acid on a SiO2, Al2O3 or TiO2 support, or untreated acidic oxides of Ti, Zr, Si, V, W, Nb or Cr; reaction is carried out in the gas phase.

    Abstract: Pulverulent and liquid detergents contain (1) one or more anionic surfactants, one or more nonionic surfactants or mixtures thereof and (2) copolymers in amounts of from 0.1 to 15% by weight preparable by copolymerization of (a) from 10 to 55 mol % of a 1,2-di-C1-C4-alkoxyethylene, (b) from 10 to 60 mol % of a monoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride of from 4 to 8 carbon atoms, (c) from 0 to 60 mol % of a monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C8-monocarboxylic acid and (d) from 0 to 20 mol % of another monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and subsequent hydrolysis of the anhydride groups of the copolymerized monomer (b) or reaction of these groups with an alcohol or an amine. Preferred copolymers contain 1,2 dimethoxyethylene as the (a) monomer, maleic acid as the (b) monomer, and acrylic acid as the (c) monomer.
