Abstract: The invention concerns chiral compounds of the general formula (I), in which the variables are defined as follows: R , R , R , and R are hydrogen or aromatic, aliphatic or araliphatic groups with 1 to 40 C-atoms; R , R , R , and R are aromatic or aliphatic groups with 1 to 20 C-atoms, with the exception that at least one of the groups R to R includes a polymerizable group. The compounds described are suitable for use as doping agents in liquid crystals, in coating-material formulations and in the manufacture of interference pigments for use in printing inks and paints.
