Abstract: Preparation of soft polyurethane (PU) foam (A) by reacting a polyisocyanate (I) with a block polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene polyol (II), having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms; hydroxy number 25-45 mg potassium hydroxide/g and content of terminally bound ethylene oxide units 15-17wt.% on total amount of alkylene oxide. Preparation of soft polyurethane (PU) foam (A) by reacting a polyisocyanate (I) with a block polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene polyol (II), having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms; hydroxy number 25-45 mg potassium hydroxide/g and content of terminally bound ethylene oxide units 15-17wt.% on total amount of alkylene oxide. (II) is prepared by addition of ethylene and propylene oxides to a starter molecule (III) of mean functionality 3. Independent claims are also included for: (a) (A) produced by the new method; (b) (II); and (c) polyol mixture, for preparing soft PU, that contains at least one (II).

Abstract: The preparation of polyurethane soft foams involves using polyester polyols as the polyol component and compound containing silicon atoms and polyether chains. - The preparation of polyurethane (PU) soft foams comprises reacting polyisocyanates comprising isocyanate and urethane group-containing prepolymers from diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyphenyl polymethylene polyisocyanates and polyether polyols with compounds with at least two active hydrogen atoms from polyester polyols in the presence of propellants, catalysts and additives and aids containing silicon atoms and polyether chains. SPECIFIC SUBSTANCES - The polyester polyols have a functionality of 2-4 and a mol. wt. of 1800-3600.

Abstract: Reactive amide-containing polymers (I). Reactive polymers of formula (I) are new L-(-Z -OCNH-A(-NHCO-Z -B-XY)n)m (I) L = polymer, free of urethane groups and with number average molecular weight at least 300, or any linear or branched sequences of two or more such polymers; A = optionally unsaturated 2-12C alkylene, cycloalkylene, 3-18C arylene or 7-18C arylenealkylene (all optionally substituted) or a heterocyclic group, or any branched or linear combination of them; Z and Z = NR, sulfur or oxygen; R = hydrogen, methyl, optionally unsaturated 2-12C alkyl, cycloalkyl, or 3-18C aryl (all optionally substituted), or any branched or linear combination of them; B = bond, methylene, or alkylene, cycloalkylene or arylene, or their combinations, as above; n = 1-20; m = 1-50; XY = a group unreactive with isocyanato groups from which the protecting group Y can be removed, under acidic, neutral or basic conditions, to produce a group containing at least two groups reactive with isocyanato . Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) method for preparing (I); (b) polymers (II) with at least two urethane or urea groups and, based on these groups, twice the number of functional groups reactive with isocyanato, produced by hydrolysis of (I); (c) polyaddition and polycondensation products prepared from (II); and (d) method for doubling the number of groups reactive with isocyanato in a urethane-free polymer.
