Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing addition products to the C=C double bond of ethylenic unsaturated compound in the presence of a catalyst, comprising at least one complex of a metal of the VIII sub-group with at least one bisphospholyl metallocene as ligand. The invention further relates to novel catalysts with phosphametallocenes as ligands.
Abstract:
Production of aldehydes by hydroformylation of olefins with CO/H2 uses a sub-Group VIII transition metal complex as catalyst at 20-200 deg C and atmospheric to 700 bar pressure. The catalyst has epsilon -phospholyl- or epsilon -polyphospholyl complex-formers as ligands. Some of these complexes are themselves new. An Independent claim is also included for new complexes of formula (I). M'L'n(CO)m (I) M' = sub-Group VIII element; L' = mono- or poly-dentate epsilon -phospholyl- and/or epsilon -polyphospholyl complex-forming ligands; and n and m \-1.
