    Abstract: A new car seat comprises a frame of polyolefin foam and a core of organic fibres, held together by a binder. Preferably, the seat comprises a back and seat region, each having a frame and core. A polypropylene particle foam with a density of 0.015-0.15 gm/cm is used. The matted fibres are 1-10 cm long, and are natural, e.g. cocoa-fibres. The binder is a vulcanised rubber or a cross-linked plastic resin. Frame and core are adhered together using a fibre fleece. The core may be integrated into the frame, without adhesion.
