    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strongly engage a cover with a foam core by allowing a screw to pierce the cover to screw the same in a sleeve in a combination of screw/ sleeve to bond the foam core and the cover. SOLUTION: The bonding of a foam core and a cover is brought about by a combination of screw 5/sleeve 3. The sleeve 3 is bonded to the through-hole preliminarily bored in the foam core 1 by a proper adhesive. However, in the case of particle foam, the sleeve 3 is pref. unified with the foam core by foaming and, in this unification, prefoamed beads are melted. A deep outer screw 4 or a hook pawl is provided to the outer periphery of this sleeve to bring the sleeve 3 into engagement with the interior of the foam core 1 during the melting and fixing of these prefoamed beads. When the foam core 1 is taken out of a mold, the sleeve 3 is strongly bonded to the interior of the core 1. In order to bond the cover 2 to the foam core 1, the through-hole pushing in the screw 5 to screw the same in the sleeve 3 is bored in the cover 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to recycled use as well as obtain good durability, shock resistance, mechanical properties and surface property by constituting a composite molding using a propylene polymer as a main body and making a polymer adhere to both sides of a foamed core with a hot-melt adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION: This shock-absorbing propylene polymer composite molding comprises: (a) a layer with a thickness of 0.5 to 10 mm containing a propylene polymer having a melting point of 130 to 165 deg.C, (b) an intermediate layer with a thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 mm containing a hot-melt adhesive of olefin copolymer having a melting point of 90 to 140 deg.C as a main body, (c) a foamed layer with a thickness of 3 to 200 mm containing a propylene copolymer having a melting point of 125 to 155 deg.C as a main body and a density of 0.015 to 0.1 g/cm , (d) an intermediate layer with a thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 mm containing a hot-melt adhesive of olefin copolymer having a melting point of 90 to 140 deg.C as a main body, and (e) a layer with a thickness of 0.5 to 10 mm containing a propylene polymer having a melting point of 130 to 165 deg.C.

    Abstract: A sandwich sheet (I) comprises: (A) a core layer of polypropylene particulate foam; (B) cover layers of fiber reinforced polypropylene as well as optionally; and (C) decorative layers. Independent claims are included for: (i) a process for the production of a foam sheet by comminuting waste pieces of sandwich sheets comprising (A), (B) and optionally (C) to an average particle size of 5-10 mm and bonding 1-20 wt.% of the comminuted material with 80-99 wt.% of polypropylene foam particles in a mold; and (ii) a process for the production of the sandwich sheet (I) by deep drawing of components (A), (B) and optionally (C) at above the softening point of polypropylene.
