Abstract: The invention relates to a flat object having a cross-linked cholesteric liquid crystal structure obtained through thermal hardening. According to the invention, said flat elements are suitable for, e.g. decorative coatings, production of safety characteristics, pigmentary particles, polarizers, color filters and IR reflectors.
