    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for esterifying (meth)acrylic acid with an alkanol in the presence of an esterifying catalyst, capable of performing the esterification economically and simply.
    SOLUTION: This method for esterifying (meth)acrylic acid is provided by separating unconverted starting materials and a formed (meth)acrylates by distillation to form a bottom product containing oxyesters, separating the bottom product, heating at 150-250°C in the presence of an acid, and adjusting pressure so as to directly evaporating cleaved products formed under the above condition from the oxyesters contained in the bottom product.
