Abstract: Thermoplastic molding compositions based on styrene polymers contain, as a flameproofing agent, an organic bromine compound of the general formula where X is a hydrocarbon radical and n is 0 or 1. The compositions may be used for the manufacture of self-extinguishing moldings, e.g. foams.
