Abstract: A reactant for making compact or cellular polyurethanes are di- or tri-functional polyoxypropylenepolyols whose terminal secondary OH groups are linked via a divalent bridging member to diols having only primary OH groups. Process for preparing compact or cellular polyurethanes by reacting (a) at least one compound with at least two active H at with (b) at least one polyisocyanate in the presence of (c) catalysts and optionally (d) blowing agents and (e) assistants and additives, characterized in that component (a) is at least one polyoxypropylene-polyol in which the secondary OH groups are link via a bridging member of formula (I) X -R-X (I) X and X (same or different) = functional groups which are reactive with OH groups; R = a suitable aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic residue with diols which contain only primary OH groups.
