    Abstract: A composite material comprises a polyurethane (I), adhesively bonded to a thermoplastic substrate. The polyurethane (I) is produced by reacting (a) an isocyanate and (b) a hydroxy-functional prepolymer produced by reacting an isocyanate with a polyester polyol that is the condensation product of adipic acid and/or phthalic anhydride with diols and/or triols. Composite material comprises a polyurethane (I) adhesively bonded to a thermoplastic substrate. The polyurethane (I) is produced by reacting a mixture of (a) an isocyanate, (b) a hydroxy-functional prepolymer produced by reacting an isocyanate with a polyester polyol that has a functionality of 2-3 and a hydroxyl number of 40-400 and is the condensation product of adipic acid and/or phthalic anhydride with diols and/or triols of molecular weight 62-3000 and optionally (c) a catalyst, (d) a propellant and/or (e) additives. An independent claim is also included for a process for producing the composite material, comprising reacting components (a)-(e) in the presence of the thermoplastic substrate.

    Abstract: A laminated element comprises a thermoplastic polymer bonded to the reaction product of a mixture of an isocyanate, a polyester polyalcohol (functionality of 2-3 and a hydroxyl number of 40-400 mgKOH/g), prepared from adipic acid and/or phthalic acid anhydride with polytetrahydrofuran, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,4-butanediol, monoethylene glycol, diethyleneglycol, trimethylolpropane and/or neopentylglycol. A laminated element (I) comprises: (A) a thermoplastic polymer, to which is bonded; (B) the reaction product a mixture comprising (B1) isocyanate (B2) a polyester polyalcohol, having a functionality of 2-3 and a hydroxyl number of 40-400 mgKOH/g, prepared from the condensation of adipic acid and/or phthalic acid anhydride with polytetrahydrofuran, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,4-butanediol, monoethylene glycol, diethyleneglycol, trimethylolpropane and/or neopentylglycol and optionally (B3) catalyst; (C) propellant; and/or (D) additives and processing aids. Independent claims are included for: (i) a process for the production of (I) by the application of (B) onto (A); and (ii) aircraft components, automobile components or furniture containing (I).
