Abstract: 1493207 N-Nitroso-N-cyclohexyl-hydroxylamine complexes BASF AG 5 March 1975 [6 March 1974] 9114/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises complexes of a water-insoluble metal salt of N-nitroso-N- cyclohexylhydroxylamine and an amine compound. They may be prepared by reacting a water-soluble salt of N-nitroso-N-cyclohexylhydroxylamine with a complex of an amine and a salt of a metal which forms a water-insoluble salt with N-nitroso-N-cyclohexylhydroxylamine or with a mixture of the amine and the metal preferably as a salt thereof. The metal is preferably cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc or cadmium. The compounds of the invention may be used as fungicides.

Abstract: Process for oxyalkylating orthoboric acid comprises reacting a 1-8c alkylene oxide with orthoboric acid in a mol. ratio of 5:1 to 1:1 in the presence of aprotic org. solvents, either thermally at 100-160 degrees C or in the presence of catalytic amts. of bases or Lewis acids at 70-120 degrees C in a closed system, at 4-9 bar. Prods. range from water-sol. to water insol. liq. to highly viscous prods. useful as mineral oil additives, hydraulic fluid additives and biocides. The alkylene oxide is e.g. ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, 1,2 and 2,3-butylene oxide, isobutylene oxide, styrene oxide, etc. The aprotic solvent may be polar or non-polar, e.g. acetone, dioxan, DMF, CCl4 etc.
