Abstract: To prepare light-stable polyurethane integral skin foams, especially soft integral foams, aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanates, both categories preferably containing urethane groups and/or biuret groups, are reacted with polyols in the presence of blowing agents and of a synergistic catalyst combination comprising an alkali metal hydroxide, alkali metal alcoholate, alkali metal phenolate, alkali metal salt of a weak acid and/or hexahydrotriazine derivative and an organic tin, zinc and/or iron(II) compound, in the presence or absence of assistants and adjuvants. The preferred catalyst combination is tri-(dimethylaminopropyl)-s-hexahydrotriazine and dibutyl-tin dilaurate.

Abstract: FOAM COMPOSITES OF POLYURETHANE INTEGRAL SKIN FOAM AND NON-POLYURETHANE FOAM AND A PROCESS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE of the Invention Foam composites are prepared from polyurethane integral skin foams and non-polyurethane foams such that 60 volume percent to 90 volume percent is the non-polyurethane foam. A foamable polyurethane integral skin mixture is foamed in a sealable mold with a slab of already formed non-polyurethane foam. Flexible polyurethane integral skin foams and flexible non-polyurethane foams are combined as well as rigid polyurethane integral skin foams and rigid non-polyurethane foams.

Prodn. of (I) by (a) laying a (II) in open mould and spraying with amt. of foamable PU thermosetting mixt. having viscosity 200-2000mPa-s at 20 deg.C and gel time 15-240 seconds at 80 deg.C such that wt. ratio of (II) to foamable PU mixt. is 51-80:49-20, or laying analogously obtd. (II) sprayed with foamable PU mixt. in open mould; (b) closing mould; (c) alloying PU mixt. to foam and harden in closed mould.
