    Abstract: Triazole compounds of the formulae Ia and Ib in which R represents hydrogen, cyclopropyl, optionally methyl-, ethyl-, ethenyl-, ethynyl-, hydroxyl-, fluorine-, chlorine-, bromine- or C1-C4-alkoxy-substituted C1-C4-alkyl or C2-C4-alkynyl, or else represents a C1-C4-alkoxy, C2-C4-alkenyloxy and C2-C4-alkynyloxy group, R and R independently of one another represent hydrogen or linear or branched C1-C3-alkyl, it also being possible for the radicals R and R together to form a carbocyclic ring which has up to six members in each ring system and which optionally has bridging members, with the proviso that, in formula Ia, at least two of the radicals R to R are other than hydrogen, and R represents hydrogen, an acyl radical CO-R (where R represents linear or branched C1-C8-alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl) or a metal cation or ammonium, a process for the preparation of the azoles of the formula I and their use as plant growth regulators.
