Abstract: After a test (trial) run of a magnetic disk (2) on a drive (1), in which after initial contact with the disk surface the magnetic head (3) is lifted in accordance with the rising rotational speed of the disk into the flying state and touches the disk again when the latter stops, the magnetic head remains in the touching state for several minutes and is thereafter raised from the disk surface by a force-measuring device (7) by means of a lifting device (8). In this case, the measuring signal of the force measuring device, which is proportional to the tensile force, is transferred onto a data recorder (logger) (11).
