Abstract: Cellular or compact polyurethane-polyurea mouldings are prepd. by reaction of (a) organic polyisocyanates, (b) higher mol. cpds. with at least 2 reactive H, (c) aromatic diamines and opt. (d) other chain extenders and/or cross-linking agents, in presence of (e) internal realease agents, (f) catalysts, and opt. (g) blowing agents and (h) auxiliaries and/or additives, as a one-shot system, in closed moulds, by reaction injection moulding. The internal release agent (e) is (A) 0.1-10 wt.%, w.r.t. (b)-(d), a mixt. of (i) 5-80 pts. wt. of an amine and/or cyclic lactam, (ii) 20-95 pts. of a metal salt of stearic and/or isostearic acid, and (iii) 0-5 pts. of a metal salt of a mon- and/or di-carboxylic acid, and (B) 0.01-2 wt.%, w.r.t. (b)-(d) of a mono- and/or di-carboxylic acid or anhydride. The release agent is claimed.

Abstract: PROCESS FOR COVERING PANE GLASS EDGES USING ELASTIC POLYISOCYANATE POLYADDITION PRODUCTS The invention is a process for coating with an adhesion-improving agent and covering the edges of plate glass, to be fitted to vehicle compartments, with polyurethane, polyurethane-polyurea, or polyurea elastomers. The edges of the plate are coated with one or more layers of an adhesion-improving agent to achieve a good bond between the glass and the elastomer covering. A glass plate is positioned in a mold, the mold closed, and the cavity between the glass plate and mold filled with a reactable mixture of organic polyisocyantes, higher molecular weight compounds having at least two reactive hydrogen atoms, chain extenders and/or crosslinking agents, catalysts, and optionally auxiliaries and/or additives. The reaction mixture is allowed to cure and then the plate glass is removed.

Abstract: Disclosed are internal mold release agents for the preparation of molded articles using polyisocyanate addition polymerization, which are comprised of: (A) at least one ketimine, aldimine, enamine, cyclic Schiff base or a mixture of at least two of said compounds; (B) at least one metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid having from 8 to 24 carbon atoms; and (C) optionally including at least one carboxylic acid, organic sulphonic acid, mineral acid, or amidosulphonic acid, and their use in preparing molded articles comprised of polyurethane-plastics, polyurea-plastics, polyurethane-polyurea-plastics, polyurethane-polyurea-polyamide-plastics, or polyurea-polyamide-plastics.

Abstract: The novel copolymers having K values of from 5 to 80 are prepared by free-radical polymerisation of A) 20 to 80% by weight, based on the total weight of (A) and (B), of at least one olefinically unsaturated polyoxyalkylene alcohol or polyester alcohol adduct, (B) 80 to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of (A) and (B), of at least one vinyl monomer from the group comprising N-vinylformamide, -2-pyrrolidone, -2-piperidone, -2-caprolactam, -imidazole, -2-ethyleneurea and -2-propyleneurea, C) 0.05 to 40 parts by weight of glycidyl acrylate and/or glycidyl methacrylate, D) 0 to 10 parts by weight of at least one alpha , beta -monoolefinically unsaturated acid and E) 0 to 30 parts by weight of at least one olefinically unsaturated carboxamide and/or carboxylate and/or styrene, the parts by weight of (C), (D) and (E) in each case being based on 100 parts by weight of the monomers (A) and (B). The copolymers are used as assistants and/or additives, for example as dispersion and/or emulsification assistants, or as additives for improving the mechanical properties, in formulations for the preparation of polyisocyanate polyaddition products.
